A fortiori
A fortiori [Lat. "from the stronger"]. A form of argument in which from one (proven or accepted) case another is deemed even more certain. In Scripture, an a fortiori argument is often introduced by "how much more" or a similar expression, e.g., "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field . . . will He not much more clothe you . . .?" (Matt 6:30).
