Abdi [Heb. ʿabdi, "my servant"]. A personal name.
1. Son of Malluch and descendant of Merari from the tribe of Levi (1 Chr 6:1, 44). He appears to be identical to the Levite mentioned in 2 Chronicles 29:12. King David appointed Ethan, a grandson of Abdi, to be a musician before the Tabernacle (1 Chr 6:31-32, 44; 15:17).
2. Son of Elam and of those who married foreign women at the time of Ezra (Ezra 10:26, 44).
