Accomplish, Accomplishment
Accomplish, Accomplishment. Achievement or bringing something to a successful conclusion.
Several Hebrew and Greek words are translated as “accomplish” in NKJV. In the OT, these include ‘asah “do/make” (Exod 14:13; 1 Sam 11:13; 1 Sam 14:45; 2 Chr 7:11; Isa 26:18; 55:11), kalah “finish” (Ezek 13:15; Dan 11:36), male’“fill” (Job 15:32; Dan 9:2), etc. In the NT, the terms include pleroo “fulfill/fill” (Luke 9:31; Acts 19:21), teleo “finish” (Luke 12:50; 18:31; 22:37; John 19:28), katergazomai “work/prepare” (Rom 15:18; 2 Cor 12:12), etc. Among other nuances, the Hebrew male’ (Dan 9:2) and the Greek pleroo (Luke 9:31; Acts 19:21) are used in the sense of fulfilling a prophetic prediction.
