Memucan [Heb. memukan]. A personal name.
He was one of seven princes of the Medo-Persian Empire who had access to King Ahasuerus' presence (Esth 1:14). When Queen Vashti refused to come and display her beauty before the king and his company at the king's banquet, Memucan suggested that she should be dethroned and that all the women in the Medo-Persian kingdom should be ordered by royal decree to "honor their husbands, both great and small" (Esth 1:16-20).
